The Penn Alps Bridge

Weekly Inspiration for 1 - 7 October 2022

The Penn Alps bridge reflecting a perfect circle

There’s a charming artisan village,

Nestled in the valley of northwestern Maryland.

It consists of a restaurant, museum and shops.

It celebrates both the Amish and Mennonite heritages;

And also on the lovely grounds is this bridge.

We were here at just the right time,

For me to capture this reflection.

I love how it forms a full circle, in repose.

To me, this illustrates a perfect analogy,

Of God’s power,

• In His Word,

• In all of creation (light, seasons, the changing landscape, etc.),

• In the work of His Spirit within us,

• To make whole or complete anything that’s within His Will.

Dear Lord, I am trusting everything to Your divine care and keeping. For just as Your creation, (light) can reflect the lines of a bridge to form a perfect circle, I know You’re at work in every detail of my life—refining, changing, and teaching me—to emulate Your decrees and ways. And oh, how I long to reflect Your likeness, more clearly, each and every day. Amen.
