Sow with a View to Righteousness!

“Sow with a view to righteousness [that righteousness, like seed, may germinate]; reap in accordance with mercy and lovingkindness. Break up your uncultivated ground, for it is time to seek and search diligently for the Lord [and to long for His blessing] until He comes to rain righteousness and His gift of salvation on you.” Hosea 10:12 AMP

Abba Daddy, there is something so beautiful about these verses to my gardener’s heart. Sow (plant, put down roots) with a view (an outlook, a heart’s desire toward) righteousness. Let these germinate, grow, and flourish. Then reap (bring in a crop from my trust and labor unto You) that has yielded mercy, love, and kindness. Help me break up the soil of my natural nature (faults, frailties, and sin). And let me share Who You are so that I’m sharing Your love with others. Teach me to seek and to search diligently for You. Let me strive to follow You completely and to live in the light of Your grace and favor. May You rain down righteousness and salvation upon my heart, just as You care for the earth with such faithfulness, love, and

provision. Amen.

We must sow the seeds of God’s Word and His ways in our own lives before we can reap His Spirit's gifts of mercy and loving-kindness. As these things germinate within us, we are like a gardener who wants to share seeds and plants so that others can enjoy God’s bountiful gifts. This also helps us keep short accounts with the Lord and others.
