The Waterfall of Grace

"He has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace, which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began (HCSB)." 2 Timothy 1:9
It is the same Waterfall from three different vantage points. From one angle, I am in front of it, and you get a sense of its height: 53 feet. From another angle—the side—you can almost feel the energy and surge of the water, and from the top—while the picture does not capture the depth—you get an altogether different rush, an effect.
As I moved and changed positions, it was interesting to note the variances, the nuances in the look and sound, its mighty power. In one image (straight on), I even captured the last glimpse of the moon before it disappeared. In another image, the sun glinted off the water, creating a rainbow effect. It was a study in contrasts of light and shadow; Contrasts in color, pure white against the vivid green of the landscape and crystal blue sky.
The Waterfall was a great place to pause and just appreciate the beauty of God's creation. It was a lovely place to sit and just absorb the rushing water as the only sound. It was like holding a piece of The Father in our vision and beholding His grace in a tangible way. In the tranquility, it felt like His presence descended like the falls.
Falling fresh was His mercy, in the trees was the whisper of His holiness. It felt like the Son stood at the top with me, holding my hand, as if saying to my heart, "Look at all I have created. Everything you see, and hear, and can touch, is because I made it, and in this moment I want you to experience my goodness. I want you to feel my waterfall of my grace".
May Grace like a Waterfall,
Tumble down upon you.
May mercy and tranquility,
Bring His presence near.
Let the water soothe your soul,
As it touches your face and shoulders.
In this moment, experience Him;
His love is right here.
May Peace like a Waterfall,
Shower you with blessings.
May you feel a fresh anointing,
In this Autumn-tide.
Let the cares and the struggles,
Flow away like the river.
In this mighty Savior,
You can safely abide.
May God's love, comfort, peace, and grace be like a mighty waterfall, falling fresh upon you. As we begin this season of Autumn, our schedules seem to fill up like a rushing river. We begin the countdown to Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. But in this season, there are so many things to appreciate, to be grateful for, and I do pray that you take time to pause in His presence, experience the refreshment of His Spirit. And when life gets too busy, look at it from different angles: What things are beneficial? What gives me strength? What drains me from seeking God or serving others?
The Waterfall in Maryland was beautiful. As we beheld the rushing water, the flowing river of God's presence fell over us. I pray that you also feel Him this Autumn, and through each of the holidays to be celebrated throughout the remainder of the year.
Dear Lord, in this season of Autumn, we bring our petitions and our praises to Your Hallowed name. We bow before You with grateful hearts—for Your Spirit, for the daily gifts that You bring us, in the form of Your love, grace, and mercy. Thank You for being God of the Universe, but also being Abba Daddy, All in All, God of Might and Power. Amen
