The Circle of Life

Trees in various stages of life!

“The tree grew and became strong, and its top reached to heaven, and it was visible to the end of the whole earth.” Daniel 4:11 ESV

We had taken a long hike that formed a loop, to then come to this spot, to rest a few minutes. Here, we found a circle of trees. 

A vibrant sapling

I looked in a circle,

From where I sat,

To see this circle of life;

The trees in this grove.

It illustrated every stage,

As into the sky,

They rose.

There were some,

That were saplings,

Some barren of leaves,

Some bent,

Some broken,

As if in repose.

One looked lightning struck,

Another was twisted by the wind,

Each had adapted,

To the conditions within,

The place it grew.

All lifted upward,

As if they had no choice,

But to honor their Creator,

With limbs and leaves as their voice.

I looked in a circle,

From where I sat,

To see the circle of life;

The trees imitate our experience.

From strong and tall, to fragile and bent, to lightning struck—they formed a ring just like their years are marked, internally. So are our days, our moments, but God is our strength through it all, so we, like the trees, owe Him our praise.

Let the circle of the trees show us that God holds us in the circle of His care.
