Snowflakes,
Normally,
Fall from the sky,
But I loved finding them,
In the nearly frozen pond.
These kind of things,
Leave me feeling in awe,
Of our Master, Creator,
And the work,
Of His hands.
That He could fashion,
Such designs,
Upon the water,
With such intricacy,
Brings beauty to my soul.
We have a number of small ponds in our local neighborhood. As we were walking one morning, I noticed this: as the pond has begun to freeze, snowflake patterns were forming. How amazing, right? I found them to be lovely. How about you? But more than just being interesting? Once again I was drawn to God’s creativity and majesty.
Dear Lord, I love the snowflakes that fall from the sky. I loved finding these upon the pond. I love how You design all things individually and with purpose. I thank You for pausing us so that we would not miss this miracle that came from Your hand. Amen.
Suggested Meditation: Job 38, as it reveals God’s power over creation—in heaven, upon the earth, over climate and over every creature!
What are your observations after reading Job 38?
How did God pause Job’s questions and help him see the Lord as Messiah?
How does creation and miracles such as this, draw your attention to worship and see God’s hand at work in your life?
