Maundy Thursday

Maundy Thursday commemorates Jesus washing the Disciples’ feet. This occurred right before the Lord’s Supper, His betrayal, death, burial, and resurrection. In other words, before He would give His life as the ultimate sacrifice for one and all, He would demonstrate personal, intimate servitude, to those who walked with Him, intimately, every day.

Isn’t it interesting that each step of His giving Himself—from the Triumphal Entry upon a humble colt, to washing dirty feet, to enduring mocking, cruelty, beatings, a crown of thorns, nails in His hands and feet—would declare Him as kind, compassionate, giving, forgiving, grace-filled, and trustworthy?
On this special Thursday—that many miss—perhaps we should take another look. For the attitude of Jesus’ heart—was to offer His hands, His soul—as a servant. He (above all other gods) showed Himself to do as He commands. And as we walk with Him intimately, may we take on these attributes.
It is by grace that we are saved. It is by His mercy that we are forgiven. It is by His cleansing blood that we are covered—with any form of righteousness. So unto this Servant, I bring the sacrifice of praise. Unto my God, I bring adoration. Unto Abba Daddy, I bow at the foot of the Cross and the foot of His throne.
Are you a servant of the King? Do you declare Him to be Hosanna in the highest? Have you committed to living and serving this King today and forever? This Easter Thursday is a great day to come and bow and dedicate your heart for the first time or anew!
