Flourishing, from Dormant Ground

Weekly Inspiration for the week of 25-31 March 2023

We had gone to a local garden to enjoy the first blooms of Spring. At the entrance drive, we spotted this miniature iris’. They had been God-planted and were growing wild. They were the first blooms to peek up from Winter’s slumber.
Perhaps the Lord used a bird to implant their seeds or the wind as His instrument. But here, they grew—against a backdrop of not-yet-green grass—to yield color and vibrancy. They held a message of life arriving—even—from the dormant ground.

Beloveds—God can do the same in you! Will you let Him place the seed of faith in your heart—to bloom and grow? Will you let Him move you—to new places and give you roots of greater depth? Will your life add a sense of vibrancy to your family, community, church, or workplace?
I don’t think this iris’ landed here—were planted here—by happenstance. They’re visible to anyone who takes the time to notice them as they enter this lovely space. And God’s Good News—His message of love, hope, and joy—likewise, are waiting to be discovered, planted, and will mature within the heart of anyone who seeks the Gardener’s touch.
Give the Lord your “dormant” things; for in the due season, He will see you flourish as You seek to draw near Him.
Here are a few spots for you to meditate on to flourish: Psalm 92:13, Isaiah 35:1, Isaiah 43:19, Psalm 103:15, Isaiah 61:11, Matthew 13:31-32
