Dear Jesus, thank You for the beauty of this Winter day. From the azure sky to the crystalline sea, from lacy clouds that waft and float and change … to the gently rolling waves that sometimes get frozen in place, I saw Your grace. I saw the evidence of Your presence in every imprint left on the sand. Every image imparts to all mankind that You walk with us daily.

In the quiet stillness, my soul heard Your voice. Even in Winter, the tide moves, and the ice and sand are shifted and carved as sculpture.

The sun shines to deliver its rays and warmth. Each may flow or glow at a slower pace, but they indeed show You to be—unchanging, never-fading, always working—upon the earth and heaven and within every soul who calls You, Lord.

This Winter’s Day showed You to be steadfast, holy, and merciful. It left the impression of Your love etched upon my heart. And I was moved! Amen.

I love it when Jesus brings us back to something in His Word or a particular location or speaks something into our hearts multiple times. But if He asks me to do something, I am trying to act on the first hearing! I try not to make Him repeat Himself!

I was blessed to see this image twice; it touched my heart. But if we want to obey God—I think we do well—to hear, follow, and act—at His first call. For this is how we love Him. And often, it’s how we show and share His love with others. This Cross was in an unexpected place, displaying a reminder of His care and goodness. May we be, likewise, an instrument of love, wherever we travel or find ourselves planted, to bring Him glory!

Has God placed you in an unexpected place, for you to be an instrument of His love, joy, peace, or hope?
