Recently, our cat Tiger Lily became ill. She had been experiencing a minor bout of respiratory symptoms, and since she needed her yearly exam, we combined the two things at her Vet visit. She received her FRVCP shot and was also given an antibiotic for her symptoms. But it appeared that between the two—she had a bit of reaction—and developed a decreased appetite.
She began to lose weight. We called the clinic and kept her under their care. But since we had gone through another time in her life that was similar (for a different reason), we remembered 3 things that helped her eat in the past: 1) an appetite stimulant 2) kitten food and 3) baby food. Pictured, she is licking baby food from a spoon.
She has recovered nicely and we were blessed to celebrate her 13th birthday in April of this year. We are grateful to the clinic and the Lord for her care/healing. So what does this have to do with our walking with God? I’ll explain.
As I was looking at this image, I was thinking: “I was willing to do whatever was necessary to get Tilly to eat.” Do you know that the Lord will do the same for you? For instance, if you open His Word, He will meet you there to be Your Teacher (John 14:26, 1 John 2:27). If you pray, He sends His Spirit to be your Intercessor (Romans 8:27). If you need help, He’ll be right by your side (John 14:16). If you are in pain, He will heal the broken places and bind up your wounds (Psalm 147:3). If you seek Him, you will find Him (Jeremiah 29:13).
I love this about the Lord! These truths bring me great peace and comfort. He is the One who loves us and knows us completely—our every need. And He was willing to do anything—He even died in our place—to prove how much He loves us. So if you need some care and feeding, some affection and attention—come, draw near. His arms are waiting. He’s here to be Your companion and dearest Friend.
Whatever you need—is available—with a single whisper, with the simplest reach toward the Master, Your Creator and Abba Daddy!
