We’ve had drought-like conditions in our area of Wisconsin over the last few weeks. This has required us to water our flowers and garden patch almost nightly. As you would imagine, some areas dry out faster than others. But here was a fascinating “find.”
We often find drops of water that remain from the watering of the night before. They are nestled in the leaves—to stand in puddles. Notice anything peculiar? There are two droplets. One is clear. One appears as blood, yet both have landed on an identical colored leaf section. In other words, there is no logical explanation for the varied hue.
The leaf was washed with clear water, yet it reflected two different images in the morning light. The spiritual analogy? Jesus poured out His blood for all mankind. But only those who accept Him as Lord and Savior can consider themselves to be—washed, forgiven, and covered by His cleansing tide.
Caladiums are a beautiful plant in the garden. They add dimension and variety to any container or flowerbed. And this one provided a way to see God’s gift of grace. And since the leaf forms a heart shape, you might also say it’s the perfect invitation to Jesus’ love.
Have you acknowledged Jesus’ grace to you? Have you been washed by His blood and cleansed by His Living Water?
“He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.” Hebrews 1:3 ESV
Dear Jesus, thank You for fathomless love, measureless grace, and unending faithfulness. Because of Your forgiveness and mercy, we are made clean. And thank You for the rain showers in the last two days, which nourish the earth and help all things grow unto Your glory. We are grateful for every gift that flows from Your hand. Amen.
