In our local neighborhood, we have crocus coming up, daffodils in bloom, and a few tulips starting to lift their pretty faces toward the sun. But one of our favorite places to find evidence of the earth’s changing landscape—is the forest floor. From among the leaves—rise little treasures of greenery and tiny blossoms—perfect specimens of God’s design. Subtle and vivid shading from His color palette can be discovered by those who explore and bend and are willing to change their perspective to see His wonders.
I love how these small flowers have pushed their way up through their dried surroundings to create beauty right where they are. I find it amazing that they are so intricately formed. And isn’t it amazing that God would give such time and detail to these items of His creation?
Question: Is the Lord revealing anything new in your life that has come out of a season of drying/preparation/or waiting for (Lamentation 3:24-26, Micah 7:7)?
Question: Are you willing to bow to God’s Will (Ephesians 3:14-17) to surrender (change your perspective) to see that He’s constantly planning more for us than is visible at any given moment (Jeremiah 29:11-3)?
Question: Will you consider that God is working in every detail of your life—with a past, present, and future outlook—and trust that you, too, are His precious creation, held in His hand and care (Psalm 37:23, Ephesians 2:10, 1 Thessalonians 2:13 & Isaiah 41:10)?
Dear Jesus, if You can bring such beauty up from the forest floor, I will trust You to create miracles from my believing and following You. I will put down the roots of reading Your Word, being in Your house, worshiping You, praying, and meditating upon Your goodness daily. And I will look for ways to bow and surrender to Your plans so that my perspective is always seeking Your face. Amen.
