Driftwood and grasses set against a rocky shoreline.
Driftwood and grasses set against a rocky shoreline.

The wind moves over the grasses,

It shifts the waves, the currents of the sea;

I cannot see it,

Yet, at its touch, I believe.

Fear moves in my heart, unwelcome,

It moves and shifts like the tide;

Again, I cannot see it,

But sometimes its presence,

Just can’t be denied.

Faith moves in my soul as an anchor,

It helps me stand against the wind and sea,

For this thing that I know is invisible,

Is building, growing, and is changing me.

What do the wind, fear, and faith, have in common?

None of the three can be seen, yet ...

The wind moves us to and fro,

Fear keeps us paralyzed or moving backward,

But only faith propels us forward!

“Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” Hebrews 11:1 NIV
