Newly bloomed Crocuses
Newly bloomed Crocuses

I love how the crocus is one of the first flowers to arrive. They lift their heads from winter’s slumber here in Wisconsin, right around Easter. Their blooms are a welcome sight, like an announcement without words that the world is waking, that God is making miracles, just as we celebrated last Sunday. And each thing that appears as Spring and Summer come into fruition leaves me filled with wonder at God’s faithfulness, love, and grace.

The Latin root of the word resurrection means “to rise.”

Dear Jesus, last week is often referred to as Resurrection Sunday in remembrance of how You rose from the grave. I am so thankful for this miracle and the life that I have in You. But I am also thankful that Your Spirit’s power is alive and well—rising, blooming, and growing—and evident in the earth and in every heart that calls You, Lord. Thank You, Abba Daddy, for being a God of new birth, change, and transformation. These things give me hope and joy for the daily journey! Amen.

The power of God’s resurrection that we celebrated on Easter Sunday—is alive and at work—and on the rise every day! When a heart receives this revelation—it cannot help but revel in His holiness, majesty, beauty, and the miracles He creates.
