The Chipmunk at the Garden

We were at a local garden,
When a little friend came to say “hello”,
Tiny-little-chipmunk stopped to visit…
Such a dear little furry fellow!
Running through the grasses,
Sniffing the posies of blue,
Enjoying all of God’s creation ...
Drinking of the morning’s dew.
He paused upon the tree stump,
And posed for his photo-shot;
He delighted in the quiet moment,
As if our company, he sought.
He spent a few minutes,
Of his little-animal-life,
Listening, interacting,
While we talked.
Even the chipmunk seemed to take in the beauty of the garden that day. In our quiet communion with each other, he paused and posed, and took time to smell the posies in his path. Sometimes, we get so busy that we forget to appreciate, to have communion with the One Who made us. We can forget that He longs for us to rest in His presence.
“One thing I have asked from the Lord, that I shall seek: That I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the Lord And to meditate in His temple.” Psalm 27:4 NASB
God created you with a space within, that is designed only for Him, for stillness, for communion. So if you see my little friend the chipmunk, remember God, to have a quiet moment with the One Who made you. You are a perfect picture of His love.
