Have you ever viewed the creation of the cat from the perspective of worshiping the Creator?

I am filled with a sense of wonder and awe at all of God’s creations. And there is something about a cat that captures my imagination. It draws me in, to make me want to know more about His character and attributes. From bright eyes to a bushy tail, the feline is a work of art and a marvel from His hand. Are your eyes open to discover? Is your heart open to praise the One, Whose nature is displayed, in all the earth?

Tiger Lily enjoying the snow!
Tiger Lily enjoying the snow!

From velvet nose,

To sparkling eyes,

From glossy fur …

Lord, it’s no surprise;

I am filled with awe,

At Your majesty.

From paws that leave,

Prints upon my heart,

From a melodic purr,

That certainly,

Imparts,

Your love, O God;

I am amazed.

From the wind she makes,

As she runs and leaps,

To her growl,

That comes,

From the deep;

I see Your nature,

My Creator.

From her whiskers,

With which she navigates,

To her ears attuned,

For prey,

She patiently waits.

From the tiniest kitten,

To the cat in my arms,

I am not immune,

To Your beauty and charm.

For in Your creation,

I see Who You are.

O God, I’m filled with wonder,

O Lord, I bring praise.

I bow with all humility,

And my heart is fully raised.

Lion of Judah,

I stand,

And I kneel in awe.

In the creation of the cat, I see Your handiwork, O God. And as she dances in the wonderland of crystalline magic that You allowed to fall from heaven, I am amazed. As her paw is raised in a form of praise, I lift my voice to honor You. Just as I am not immune to the feline’s charms, I am filled with wonder at Who You are, Your faithful care, and love for all mankind.

"Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord from the heavens! Praise him from the skies! … Praise him, skies above! … Let every created thing give praise to the Lord, for he issued his command, and they came into being. … Praise the Lord from the earth, you creatures of the ocean depths, fire and hail, snow and clouds, wind and weather that obey him. … Let them all praise the name of the Lord. For his name is very great; his glory towers over the earth and heaven!” Psalm 148:1,4a,5,7-8,13 NLT

The Creator made everything reflect His love, beauty, and grace. But will we lift our eyes, open our hearts, and be filled with awe to see His majesty?
