Mountains stretched as far as the eye could see. They rose to heights over 14,000 ft. With depth and breadth, they displayed God’s might and power. In Him, we can hide. In the Lord, we find strength and our greatest defense in time of need.

Majestically they rise from the surface of the earth.

Yet layers are hidden in the depths beneath.

For as much of them as we can see rising toward heaven,

There lie secrets in their foundation that God keeps.

The Rocky Mountains
The Rocky Mountains

For as He formed them in the beginning,

These rocky chains,

That ebb and flow across the world today …

Though they are buffeted by the winds and weather,

They stand as monuments to His holy array.

They are demonstrations of God as Engineer,

As a Chemist in their varied hues.

They display Him as Physicist,

Their designs echo these truths.

But to my heart,

Each one is a strong tower,

A visual reminder,

That He is Creator,

The One of great power.

So if you need strength,

If you need hope,

Look into the eyes,

Of the One, above.

Because the Lord,

Who made the mountains,

Is surely steadfast,

In proving His ever-lasting love!

“God, listen to me shout, bend an ear to my prayer. When I’m far from anywhere, down to my last gasp, I call out, ‘Guide me up High Rock Mountain!’ You’ve always given me breathing room, a place to get away from it all, A lifetime pass to your safe-house, an open invitation as your guest. You’ve always taken me seriously, God, made me welcome among those who know and love you.” Psalm 61:1-5 MSG

The Strong Tower of heaven is listening to every heart cry of earth. The One Who made the earth echos with power, even today, in the life of the ones who trust in His name. To Him you can run. Upon Him you can rely until you take your last breath.

“Before the mountains were born or before You had given birth to the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, You are [the eternal] God.” Psalm 90:2 AMP
