Stepping Stones

Weekly Inspiration for the week of 8 - 14 October 2022

God created natural "stepping stones" in this beautiful area of West Virginia

We were hiking in the Dolly Sods Wilderness Area on a beautiful, crisp Autumn day. On a plateau that led to a lovely vista, was this natural path. It appeared to my eyes like God had laid stepping-stones to reach the view. What a wonderful spiritual image for following Him.

Lord, lay before me,

Stepping-stones.

Align my path, I pray.

Mark out Your way,

Direct and guide,

Me safely, day by day.

Take my hand,

So I do not stumble.

Be my compass,

Be my Light.

For as I walk,

Right with You,

You are the One,

Who holds me securely,

By Your power and might.

The amazing God who created such grandeur for us to enjoy and explore, knows every crack and crevice in the path before us. He is the One who knows where the road is long, wearying, where we will be energized, when we need to rest. Put your hand in His, let Him be Your Guide, Your Companion, your Light. Let Jesus love you, and hold you securely, in His power and might!

Spend a little time meditating in—Psalm 25:4-5, 31:3, and 61:1-2—so that God can align your steps with His perfect plans.
