Overflowing

"And now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you must continue to follow him. 7 Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness (NLT)." Colossians 2:6-7
One morning, we were walking in our neighborhood; on another, we were coming out of church … when something caught my eye. There were weeds and small wildflowers growing along the road. What interested me about this scene? Glad you asked! They were not simply blooming—but overflowing—splashing, uncontainable color and blossoms upward, over the curb and onto the road.
What in our lives is like this? Our joy? Jesus’ love? Kindness? Generosity? Hospitality? Our passion for Christ?

Is your mind being sown,
With seeds or weeds?
Is your heart alive, to bloom?
Are the attributes of Jesus,
So overflowing,
Till there’s simply no room …
For anyone to see anything,
But Him?
A Short Bible Study: John 15:11, Romans 15:13, Psalm 16:11, Psalm 23:5,
2 Corinthians 9:8, and Isaiah 58:11
“Now may our God and Father Himself and Jesus our Lord direct our way to you; 12 and may the Lord cause you to increase and abound in love for one another, and for all people, just as we also do for you; 13 so that He may establish your hearts without blame in holiness before our God and Father at the coming of our Lord Jesus with all His saints (NASB1995).” 1 Thessalonians 3:11-13
Dear Jesus, be so active and alive in us—that Your beauty—cascades over our every step. This displays that we walk on Your road. Amen.
