Love is in the Eyes

Muffin was the first cat that we adopted as a couple. We had only been married a few years when we spotted him in a pet store window. He began to pad and purr immediately. It seemed that the three of us were destined to love each other. His eyes lit up at seeing us, and ours held a little sparkle for him. As he grew, he was our most affectionate feline to date.

Love shone purely from his eyes. It rumbled from his throat with a deep, resonant purr. And it was evident—by his affectionate nature, proximity, and willingness to cuddle. And as much as we adored our first furry, God loves us purely, wholly, unconditionally, even more.
And oh, how He loves when we pray or praise. These are our human version of padding-and-purring—unto our Master. Need to feel love? Draw close. Want to show love for Jesus? Look up and give God your attention. Honor Him with a little thankfulness, some gratitude. Run into His arms, and tell Him you appreciate His grace, forgiveness, and mercy. These are how we display our humble adoration to the One true God.

Love is in His eyes every time the Lord looks at you. Do your eyes hold the same for Him?
Psalm 97:11-12 (ESV): “Light is sown for the righteous, and joy for the upright in heart. 12 Rejoice in the Lord, O you righteous, and give thanks to his holy name!”
