Holy, Holy, Holy … is Tiger Lily

I have a floral arrangement sitting on our sideboard in the dining area. Many a morning, our Tiger Lily can be found on this surface, nibbling the greenery or petals. These are not good for her, and we have tried several things to discourage this behavior. From a pet “clicker” to a water bottle ... we’ve been attempting to gently “shoo” her away, to no avail. And then we

remembered something simple and effective. We start to sing the hymn—“Holy, Holy, Holy.” Doug begins in a low octave, and I sing in a higher one, and within seconds, she jumps down and ceases grazing.
One day, as she was up on the Demilune chest—preparing to be disobedient—we used our disciplinary tactic, and Doug joked, “Holy, Holy, Holy, was God speaking to her.”
Do we move away from temptation as quickly? Gossip? Lewd jokes? If we want to live a Holy life, we must obey God’s voice—anywhere, anytime. And when we fill our minds with His Word, hymns, or a song of praise—we bring our hearts closer—to our Master, indeed!
Holy, Holy, Holy, is Tiger Lily when she listens; Holy, Holy, Holy are we when we heed the Master’s voice!
