Weekly Inspiration for 28 May - 4 June 2022

Memorial Day began on May 30, 1868. It was originally called Decoration Day, and honored the fallen soldiers of the Civil War. Today, we honor all of those who have died, those who have fought giving their lives in sacrifice for our freedom. As we see flowers, wreaths, and flags marking the gravestones of these brave men and women, may we pause to appreciate the great nation in which we live. And may we join our hearts all across America, to remember that Christ also died to give us freedom. May we bow in prayer, seeking His blessing and grace. And may God bless America!
“Here are my directions: Pray much for others; plead for God’s mercy upon them; give thanks for all he is going to do for them. Pray in this way for kings and all others who are in authority over us, or are in places of high responsibility, so that we can live in peace and quietness, spending our time in godly living and thinking much about the Lord.” 1 Timothy 2:1-2 TLB
Dear Jesus, on this Memorial Day weekend,
We thank You for those who have fought to keep our country—free.
We thank You for Your sacrifice,
To give us life, with Your shed blood upon Calvary’s tree.
And we lift up our nation’s leaders,
The men and women in our government, who are in authority,
And for every person, everywhere,
So that they may now, or one day—in You—believe.
For we pray for Your blessing—upon one and all!
Amen.
Happy Memorial Day weekend!
