Goodness, Righteousness, and Truth - Happy Mother's Day!

“For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth.” Ephesians 5:9 KJV

Father God, I love how You make Your Word so clear to us. The fruit of the Spirit does not (cannot) come from us. It is a work of Your grace. It comes from our faith in You. Fruit, in our lives, is the result of, or the by-product of, the seeds we plant. If we invest time studying Your Word, it will go into our minds and hearts. If we pray, we develop a strong relationship and communion with You. Your Spirit intercedes for us and convicts us of wrongdoing. As we demonstrate discipline, You develop Your character within us. 

Righteousness, truth, and faith are like the flourishing leaves and fruit that will be yielded from the tree. Jesus, this idea reminds me of Jeremiah 17:7-8 (NKJV): “Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, and whose hope is the Lord. For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, which spreads out its roots by the river, and will not fear when heat comes; but its leaf will be green, and will not be anxious in the year of drought, nor will cease from yielding fruit.” Lord, that’s our prayer, indeed! Amen.

To all the special ladies in our (and your) lives—what beautiful qualities to be displayed in the life of a Godly woman! Goodness, righteousness and truth are her clothing—they're her adornment and demonstrate her heart's desire to love God and others. We wish each of you a blessed and joy-filled day. Thank you for your sweet influence and investment in the lives of your children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and beyond!

Goodness, righteousness and truth cannot be yielded as fruit from our lives without the presence of God’s Spirit living in and through us.
