Tranquil view of Lake Michigan, framed by a steel bridge

As we were walking along, this bridge seemed to form its own frame of the sea beyond. I loved how it was symmetrical, yet irregular from a normal square or rectangular shape. It was an unusual day, in that the water was calm. The sky was a brilliant blue and the leaves were just beginning to form on the nearby tree.

Anything in your life … that you see God shaping—becoming—yet perhaps is not as you would have “framed” it? Maybe something that you thought would fit perfectly, is appearing somewhat abstract, and you’re trying to discern what Your Abba Daddy is doing?

Sometimes we have to surrender the design to His workmanship. We have to trust that since we are made in His image, that He’s going to work for good, that which He is developing in and around us. And sometimes, His framing, is creating beauty to bring Him glory.

Dear Lord, help me surrender everything in my life to Your framing, so that Your image is imprinted on the design—of my thoughts, heart, actions and steps. Amen.
