A tranquil garden scene, facing a fountain
A tranquil garden scene, facing a fountain

We were looking into this garden scene from the reverse side of the entrance. I chose to frame it, from the perspective of the trees, facing the fountain. In this way, you are invited into the space. The idea, is that you could envision yourself taking a seat on one of the benches, in order to simply enjoy a quiet moment in God’s company.

Here, you’ll be enveloped by birdsong. You’ll be sitting in the shade, yet feel the warmth of the dappled sunshine. You’ll feel the cool breezes. You’ll hear the swish of the fountain. And your senses—will breathe. Your eyes and heart and mind will experience a sense of calm.

Did you feel all of that from my picture and description? Did you know that God longs for you to know peace such as this everyday, by coming to Him, for such communion? Indoors or out? In any weather? In every circumstance?

That’s the beauty of the company of God. That’s the miracle of God’s creation. And that’s why the message of nature, is truly His communication-piece to the world—that He is love and peace.

In front of you,

Beside you,

From and the reverse—

God is here.

He is reaching out to you.

He is longing for you to come into His company.

He’s near to the ones who will seek Him,

Who come to meet Him, daily.

Take a seat,

And let His Spirit rest upon you.

Breathe in,

And know peace,

That only He can provide.

This fountain provided a momentary respite. But Jesus is the One who can provide perfect peace. Come into the company of God, to find rest for your soul.

Here are a few suggested places to meditate upon His Word: 2 Thessalonians 3:16,

Colossians 3:15, Isaiah 55:12, Matthew 11:28-30, Psalm 23:2, Psalm 1:3, Isaiah 58:11, Psalm 46:10
