A freshly-changed leaf
A freshly-changed leaf

This morning’s “find” was a freshly-changed leaf. While a little early, I loved where it was posed. I did not place it here. It had fallen, to land in this position—elevated—held within this tall, spiky weed. But I said to Doug, “It’s like it’s being displayed here, not to be missed.”

Everyday, I look for the evidence that God has been here before us, is walking with us, is showing Himself or some facet of His love and character. And to me, even the way that leaves change their coloration, is a miracle that comes only from His hand.

This leaf was held about 4 feet off the ground. It was caught in the tendrils of the other plant-life, just so. And it forms a heart, as a reminder that all of creation is God’s message of His love for us.

“We look at this Son and see the God who cannot be seen. We look at this Son and see God’s original purpose in everything created. For everything, absolutely everything, above and below, visible and invisible, rank after rank after rank of angels—everything got started in him and finds its purpose in him. He was there before any of it came into existence and holds it all together right up to this moment. And when it comes to the church, he organizes and holds it together, like a head does a body. He was supreme in the beginning and—leading the resurrection parade—he is supreme in the end. From beginning to end he’s there, towering far above everything, everyone. So spacious is he, so expansive, that everything of God finds its proper place in him without crowding. Not only that, but all the broken and dislocated pieces of the universe—people and things, animals and atoms—get properly fixed and fit together in vibrant harmonies, all because of his death, his blood that poured down from the cross.”

Colossians 1:16-20 MSG

The things that God displays before us, are meant to communicate something of His loving-kindness, to us. Are you seeing, and hearing His whisper of love? ‘Cause it’s unchangeable! That should elevate our thinking, seeking, our worship and our praise!
