Do you see what I see?
A kitty’s face hides within the snowy mountain chain.
He’s seeking a bird,
That flies upon the plains!
I love being observant to what my cat sees. I often bow to his/her level to get a cat’s-eye view of life. It’s an interesting perspective, since they are a little shorter than we. Maybe that’s why it’s a constant struggle to keep them off counters and high places. They are in search of a higher perspective!
I couldn’t resist testing your “I spy” skills in this photo. Did you find both the cat and the bird? Did you know that Jesus is not hiding from you, but instead wants you to seek to know Him, and have a personal relationship with Him?
I think the wonders of creation are one of the ways that He is constantly reaching out to us. I think He gives us extraordinary glimpses of Himself in our ordinary days. But we must be looking for a higher perspective—on our lives, in our circumstances.
Do you think the Lord ever wants to ask us: Do you see what I see? Do you try to understand My love, My grace, My forgiveness? Are you still long enough to absorb My Word and its truths? Do you listen when you pray or simply pour out your requests and walk away?
This might be a good place for each of us to pause and do a simple heart check. Did any of those questions, resonate? Give the Lord room to answer.

Do you see the Christ-Child,
In the manger where He lay?
Will you invite Him into your heart,
Or leave Him swaddled,
In the cradle’s hay?
Do you see … that God invites each of us to know Him—in interesting, subtle, bold, extraordinary and ordinary—ways? But we must be attuned to discover the many facets of His character, the breadth and width of His love, and the depth of His mercy. For when we seek, He promises, that we’ll find!
