We were out walking, enjoying the colors of Autumn, when in the sky there appeared this natural crystalline-rainbow. It stretched in a semi-circle above our heads, above the trees. It was not an effect of the camera, since it was also visible to the naked eye. And we had never quite seen anything like this before.

Its an optical phenomenon called a halo, produced through light reflection, interacting with ice crystals in the atmosphere. These ice crystals get suspended in the clouds, and are sometimes referred to as "diamond dust." While it’s devoid of rainbow shadings—it had a simple beauty. And to my heart, it seemed a blessing, after a season of sorrow and pain.

Do you need a similar promise today? Do you need a little hope? Something to lift your eyes to the Lord, above?

“I’ve set my rainbow in the sky to symbolize the covenant between me and the earth.” Genesis 9:13 ISV

This is why I love what I do—because God is present everywhere, at all times. He’s always trying to show Himself to us—if we’ll simply look for His everyday miracles. ‘Cause as we read His Word, He speaks. As we do our best to follow in His footsteps, He’ll show us that He’s walking with us. And as we seek Him—He’ll answer, provide, forgive, offer grace, and shine His light and love—into every corner of our world.

Lord, thank You for moments such as this. They remind us of Your beauty, Your power, Your divinity and sovereignty. Thank You for displaying Yourself in creation—in the seasons, in the sky—through Your Word and by communicating with us through Your Spirit. May our obedience and praise convey our love to You. And may our following, leave no doubt, that You are the light of our lives. Amen.

This crystalline rainbow,

Helped me see,

That our God of Creation,

Rules and reigns,

—In light and purity.

So I give my heart,

I bring Him my praise,

Wholly,

Always,

—For all of my days!

We came upon this crystalline rainbow … and to my soul, it was like the covenant given to Noah, since I had just endured a flood of grief. Below are a few places to meditate upon how God wants to meet you with His presence. See if they don't help feel like you've experienced a little Godly "diamond dust."
