I found this day lily, bathed, from the overnight shower. Rain, beaded on its petals and on its greenery. And in its simplicity, my heart asked the Lord to do the same in me.

This daylily has been caught in an overnight shower. It reminded me that though we are imperfect, Jesus died, to bathe us in His forgiveness and grace.
Bathed in Grace

Father, today, I ask for Your grace like a shower, to shower over me. I need Your reign of holiness to invade my every thought, emotion, and expression. I come humbly, and bow as this flower, soaking-in Your mercy. And I ask that Your Living Water would give me strength to fulfill all that’s in Your Will. Grant me something of new life, even as You cleanse an impurity from my soul. Amen.

There was something so beautiful, in the day lily being coated with rainwater. It was a fresh reminder of our constant need to be washed in Jesus’ precious love and forgiveness. I’m so thankful for His grace, and His faithful care that showers His children with blessing, so that we grow in His image.

God’s love bathes us, so that while we are not perfect, we can shower others with His grace, as He has so generously poured out His compassion upon us.

Here are a few spots in Scripture to allow God to bathe you in His grace: Ephesians 2:4-9, Romans 3:23-24, Romans 11:6, 2 Corinthians 9:8, 2 Peter 3:18, 2 Corinthians 13:14
