I love how taking a photo of Tiger Lily through the screen appears like a canvas painting. Here she is on her bench, which we position right inside the sliding glass door. If it’s nice out, she can’t wait for us to set up her spot so she can enjoy the incoming breeze. As you can see, she got so cozy that she drifted off to take a catnap.
She loves to interact with the birds from this perch. She “barks” at them till she wears herself out. She follows their flights with full attention. But they seem to know that they’re safe. And we simply adore her coming close to keep us company while we’re out on the deck working. Even when she’s napping, she’s present with us.
Dear Jesus, I’m coming today to sit at Your feet, to be still in Your presence. I’m here to learn from Your Word and Spirit and hear Your voice. My heart is attuned to what You want to share with me. I’m quieting my thoughts and emotions so that You have room to shape my circumstances and movements. I’m yielded to act or rest as You direct. Amen.
“My soul quietly waits for the True God alone because I hope only in Him. He alone is my rock and deliverance, my citadel high on a hill; I will not be shaken. My salvation and my significance depend ultimately on God; the core of my strength, my shelter, is in the True God. Have faith in Him in all circumstances, dear people. Open up your heart to Him the True God shelters us in His arms. [pause]” Psalm 62:5-8 Voice
Take in the Spirit like breathing in a fresh breeze. Then, let Jesus fill you. Rest in His presence until peace comes. Then follow what He speaks into your soul—through His Word or His voice—by dwelling in the sweet spot of His Will.
