A New Fur Coat

It’s nearing the end of June. We have a rabbit that often visits our back yard. In fact, we call him our resident-rabbit because we see him in all seasons.
I had to smile when I noticed his appearance. God’s giving him a new fur coat for the Summer months As the weather warms (or cools) the Lord, provides less (or more), insulation. And to witness such a sight, in such a striking way—at the half-way point of this transition—was amazing to me.
Notice how sleek the new fur looks? His shedding looks like it’s delivering a lighter, softer, finer coat. And just in time for our warmest week so far!
Is God refining anything in your heart? In your life? Is He encouraging you to shed any habit? Encouraging you to insulate yourself with better choices, or friends, or more time spent in His presence? Is He lightening a load—of worry, or fear?
This rabbit gets a new fur coat, seasonally, with Winter and Summer being the most noticeable of these transitions . They get a new fur coat via God’s provisional care. And while we humans do not display the spiritual changes that occur in us, they are visible—in our attitudes and actions—in every season. And as for me, I’m thankful that God does not leave His creations, or us, the same. How about you?
Here’s a little inspiration for a new spiritual coat of God’s design: Romans 12:2, Ephesians 4:22-24, Colossians 3:9-10, Psalm 51:10, 2 Corinthians 5:17, Philippians 1:6
